This shredder was purchased for use in a small office with less than 10 employees. The Dahle 20414 was the machine that was purchases to accommodate the needs of the office staff. I was very impressed when the shredder arrived. As I inspected the machine, I found that the construction was very sturdy and strong. There were no cheap, flimsy parts found anywhere on the shredder. I think that the manufacturer took the time to make a good product that they could stand by with confidence. I felt confident with my purchase.
The shredder is a cross cut shredder. These machines generally have a lower number of pages that can be placed in the shredder at once, but there is a reason for that. Instead of cutting the pages into strips, the machine cuts the paper into smaller pieces to provide added protection. I find that the 12-15 sheets of paper that the machine can shred at one time are good enough for the people in my office. It is a level 3 security machine so that makes me feel good.
It is very easy to move around the office. We decided to rearrange the office, and we did so with ease because the shredder only weighs 61 pounds. It is also very quiet during daily operation. The machine also has an indicator light that comes on when the bin is full.
My one issue with the shredder is the small feeding area that is 9.5 inches wide. I really like the new office shredder, and so do my coworkers. Write a review
