It has 4 MB (up to 396 pages) of memory for outgoing faxes, ideal for broadcasting lengthy documents to multiple locations. It also has 6 MB (up to 521 pages) of memory for receiving faxes, even if the unit has run out of paper. Better still, the received documents are retained in flash memory in case of a power failure.
