"It's quiet as shredders go and has a durable feel about it. It is possible to jam it. The lights are handy, but once the machine grabs the paper, there's not much you can do about it until it grinds to a stop. The safety sensor works well. The bin is easy to empty. I usually pull staples before shredding, but the few that got through were no problem for this shredder. Made quick work of cd's. So far, so good. Very satisfied with this purchase."

"We love how quiet it is when it is operating. That's the best thing about it. We can even use it when we are talking on the phone. It is also great that it has a large waste capacity. If I have one fault with it, it's easy to poke a hole in the bag when I'm changing it."

"The Fellows SB-89CI is a very high quality, relatively quiet running, and fun piece of equipment. I've only had the paper shredder for a few weeks now, but it has done its job perfectly so far. I run a massage business, and there are documents that I have to shred for privacy protection of my clients, and to help keep the amount of paper storage I have to a minimal and manageable level. This shredder powers through several pages at a time, and allows me to spend less time at the shredder, and more time doing more important things. I highly recommend it!"

"This is my 4th shredder over a period of about 15 years. They all have done an OK job, but none have performed like the SB-89Ci. I have had other brands and most recently, a different model Fellowes. This one does the job it professes to do, and does it with ease. I have only had it about 3 weeks, so I can't address its durability, but I am expecting it to last for many years. The cost was a bit high, but I was able to get it at a very good discount. I no longer dread going to shred, because I know it will be a quick, efficient process. It was very easy to assemble, just put the casters on and it was ready to use. It's not used daily, but I do a lot of shredding when it is used. Great job so far."

"I purchased this for both business and personal use. It is a very intuitive machine to use and provides different symbols that light up so that you can identify what part of the process is taking place.
It is a quite machine good for a personal office.
I would have liked the ability to do greater volume but that may be because I was trying to catch up.
One very small gripe is the waste basket sometimes is temperamental when you reinstall it and it takes a couple of time to make sure it seats correctly so that it will operate.
I really liked the safety feature that protects ones fingers. Again did not appreciate until the light came on."

"Just got this shredder. A couple of things immediately stood out to me. It's a nice looking piece of equipment and is made very sturdy. I'm very pleased so far. Also, I'm happy to report that I called Fellowes regarding a jam and they were really great to deal with. The hold time wasn't very long and we resolved my issue right away. The only con that I see thus far is that it has gotten jammed a couple of times when I've had less than 18 sheets in the shredder. Other than that, I've been very pleased with everything overall."
