"I am not sold on this shredder yet. It is a powerful shredder, but still does not always shred anywhere close to the amount of paper is says. Also, every now and then it will squeal and make loud noises....when just shredding a small amount of paper. There is plenty of oil in the oil compartment so I don't know what is happening with it. It is only a couple weeks old."

"We purchased an inexpensive shredder as we didn't want to spend the money on something more expensive. After struggling a year with a shredder that would shut off when it got too hot and take forever to cool down, it is wonderful to have a shredder that you can shred a box of paper and it doesn't shut off. It also doesn't jam, it just stops for a second or two and then powers through it. I just wish I had purchased this first."

"We are very disappointed with our shredder. The first day we used it it was leaking oil all over the floor. I called Zack at Fellows and he directed me to our local Fellows Servicing Dept. and advised it has a 3 yr warranty.
The company came and advised that they would reoder new parts for our new machine and that the oil was leaking from the outside. He came back replaced the parts and cleaned everything out and 2 days later it is leaking again. We did not overfill the oil resevoir as the service dept filled it and I have a note on the machine on how to step by step do it. I am now going to call the service dept. again and let them know. I cannot rate this machine anything other than a minus at this time. We thought this was a highly rated machine and couldn't wait to receive it but now we are very disappointed. We are a teaching academy and need a machine that will be dependable."

"Good Shredder for a mid size office. Holds a lot of "shreds". Very nice collection basket - our last one was a wire frame and we had to fight with it all the time. Overall very impressed with this. Only downside is that it is pretty loud when shredding."

"This shredder is very quiet. It has a large paper receptacle so you don't have to empty it so often. We have not had one paper jam since we've had it. It runs for long periods of time with no problems. It is self oiling, one less thing to remember to do. We are very happy with this shredder."

"The Fellowes C-480C shredder is very effective in meeting all of my shredding needs. Perfect for shredding paper, credit cards, CD/DVDs and small paper clips that I may forget to remove. It is a very durable piece of equipment with great performance in addition to its quiet operation feature. I would highly recommend this shredder to anyone who wants a reliable, durable, effective, and efficient product. This shredder is able to shred more amounts of papers at one time than my previous shredder without becoming jammed and delaying the shredding process.
The cover over the blades provide an excellent safety feature to prevent mishaps from occuring and there is also a minimum of mess to clean up because of the large capacity of the recyle bin."

"We bought two because we need to destroy alot of paper due to going to an imaging system. I was told this machine would be heavy duty and able to run 24/7 without any problems. Not true. Within a week of using during the workday as our volunteer began shredding all the documents, both machines broke inside. We had to wait another week while an office supply company ordered the parts. Fortunately, we had an OLD shredder we have had for over 10 years and I have to say, it is still performing better than these two new supposedly heavy duty shredders."
