Category: | Shredders | Manufacturer: | Dahle |
Security Level: | High Security Shredders | Size: | Departmental Shredders |
Type: | Super Micro Cut Shredder | Model: | 40634 |
MPN: | 40634 | UPC: | 8000 |
The Dahle 40634 super micro cut shredder is suitable for use in departments that have around 10+ people and need to shred highly classified documents. The 40634 high security shredder complies with the level 6 security specification, and is NSA approved according to the NSA/CSS Specification 02-01.
The Dahle 40634 high security shredder features a wide feed opening that enables it to shred large paper sizes. The shredded waste is collected in a large waste bin that will hold a lot of these shredded particles. When the waste bin gets full, the paper shredder stops shredding. The paper shredder uses the help of sensors in the feed opening to automatically start shredding when paper is placed near the feed opening, and stop when there is no more paper. When the paper shredder isn't being used, it goes to sleep mode to save energy costs. If excess papers have been fed, the Dahle 40634 high security shredder automatically reverses them to prevent paper jam. The paper shredder also features metal strippers that keep the shredded paper away from the cutting blades to prevent paper jam. The Dahle 40634 high security shredder automatically oils the cutting blades to optimize the shredding process.
Shredders Security Standards
Paper shredders fall into six levels of security level 1 (lowest) to level 6 (highest) as defined in DIN32757. These levels have been defined under different considerations about information media and security required. For normal home use then a lower level of security is suitable. For an office where information such as personnel and wage documents are being disposed, then a higher level (cross cut shredder model) would be suitable.
