The Intimus 14.87 industrial strip cut paper shredder is a great addition to any office space. I have things about the shredder that I like as well as a few things that do not like about the machine.
Advantages-
• It has a 17-inch feeding area. This is one of the largest feeding areas that I have ever seen on an industrial shredder. There is no need to fold pages or worry about crumpled pages or jams with this shredder.
• The bin size is 53-gallons. It takes me a long time to get the bin filled since this is a cross-cut shredder. The chards take up a small amount of space in the bin area.
• It has a high shredding ability. The machine can shred 130-140 sheets of paper at once. I was very impressed with this shredding ability.
Disadvantages-
• There is no auto oiler features. I have to oil the machine manually at times. The machine does not have the option to have the auto-oiler installed. A machine in this price range should have this feature.
• The Intimus shredder does not offer a high level of security. It is rated a level 2 security because it cannot cross cuts the material. The cross-cut feature is a feature that no business can afford to do without.
• There is no continuous motor. The machine has to be shut down for a temporary cool down after heavy use. I was a little disappointed with the feature. Write a review
